Event Runner Energie Graz

I worked on this project as fulltime employee of CodeFlügel, responsibilities included project manager & lead developer among others.

The E-Netze Steiermark commissioned a trade fair game that should keep children busy during their parents’ visits. This is an endless runner game with procedurally generated endless levels. The game is intended to be part of the smart meter campaign and, among other things, serve as a means of promotion.

The final graphical 3D assets came from Unter freien Himmel based on level parts I designed for fitting together seamlessly and enabling me to generate endless levels with different biomes. And I took care of the prototyping, technical implementation, game design, balancing/Q&A.

The player slips into the role of a smart meter. They try to collect as many coins as possible on their journey through the city. At the same time, they have to avoid power-guzzling devices such as refrigerators or washing machines.

Created in Unity and running as Windows executable as well on the clients homepage using HTML5. For the event version it features some special hardware connections for either touchscreen or controller support as well as automatic printing of physical highscore certificates for booth visitors after a playthrough.
